THE CREATIVE
APPROACH

Sambita’s art–science–conservation practice grows from a desire to communicate beyond words, reaching across cultures, disciplines, and species. Drawing functions as a way of observing—an act of careful attention to people, landscapes, and more-than-human lives. Rooted in early explorations of portraiture and the psyche, and shaped by formal training in biology and behavioral ecology, their work bridges empirical inquiry with emotional and experiential knowing. Rather than separating art and science, Sambita treats them as complementary ways of understanding complexity, uncertainty, and interdependence.
Whether it's depicting the essence of nature--the shared realities of the multispecies & multicultural vibrance that is existence, capturing the wonders and challenges of science, fieldwork and conservation, or questioning the status quo & injustices across the world, and exploring the intangible territories of human experience & psyche, Sambita's creative expression is an exercise in intentional observation, deep reflection and iterative enquiry.
